The Intensification of Collective Learning: The Anthropocene

The Anthropocene is the unofficial geological era where humanity has had an immense effect on the biosphere, and is a fascinating thing to study when looking at the advancement of our race.

Due to the intensification of collective learning, which is increasing exponentially there has been a huge rise in the complexity, innovation and discovery since around  1800. In fact, there has been more change to the human race in the last century than there has been in the last 250,000 years of our  history!

We have discovered the Higgs Boson, invented electric cars, figured our how to harness energy from the sun and earth, and this doesn’t show any signs of slowing. We live in a global network of information, and with communication being possible practically instantaneously, who knows where we will be in another hundred years.
