The City Inside Your Cells: Animal Cells Explained

Animal cells are fantastic, they are specialized to create other organelles within themselves, other cells, tissues, organs and organisms a plant cell or prokaryote could never achieve!

Think of the cell as a city, ruled by the nucleus, which creates laws based on the information from DNA, with RNA henchmen produced in the nucleolus. There are ribosomes taking out the trash, the endoplasmic reticulum busy making buildings and the membrane acting as a guard who is incredibly selective as to who comes in and goes out.

Without the Eukaryotic animal cell we would not be able to eat, sleep drink move or even exist. It’s all down to the billions of cities living in our bodies.
