Ghosts of World War Two Invade 20 Modern Photographs

The following pictures were published in the Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta in November 2010. They are the  work of Russian pilot Sergey Larenkov. Sergey calls the photo collection “The Ghosts of World War II’s Past”. Originally the project started as a hobby. He used old postcards and archived photos, and with a touch of Photoshop wizardry he was able to combine these with pictures of the modern locations.

Aside from the startling imagery, perhaps the most surprising thing is how much the locations have changed.
