The Seven Years’ War and the Hint of Revolution

This video examines the events surrounding the Seven Years’ War which took place between 1754 and 1763 and involved many of the great military powers of the time — a fact that lead Winston Churchill to label it the ‘first world war’. The main belligerents were Great Britain and France and it is estimated that, overall, approximately 1,000,000 people died during the war.

The video discusses the outcome of the war, the subsequent rebellion known as ‘Pontiac’s War’ and the following period of religious revival which became known as the ‘Great Awakening’ and sewed the seeds of the American Revolution.
